Did a water change for all my tanks today!!!!

Can see that the parrot fishes are extremely happy after a nice water change!!!

The water in the tank has really cleared up with the usage of API Streszyme... Do you think the water is much clearer now?

Even my clown loaches are happy under the drift wood!

API Stresszyme

Alright, must admit that I have been getting a little busy to update this blog...

with my increased work load, even maintaining my tank seems like a hassle to me, as I can hardly find a good time to do a water change!

Ever since the water in my tank started to turn cloudy, I have been thinking of what should I do since water changes did not improve the situation much.

A friend of mine introduced me API Stresszyme:

and boy.. did it work wonders!

The product apparently contains over 300 million live bacteria per teaspoonful. It claims to break down organic compounds that cause dangerous conditions such as ammonia and nitrite poisoning and low oxygen levels. Continuous use assures an active biological filter, cleaner aquarium, healthier fish and good water quality.

The only drawback I feel is the price tag.. a little expensive for continous usage... literal money down the drain!

Is it all hype?

Some time back, I bought a tub of Montmorillonite clay after reading how other forum users had noticed great changes in their fishes when they used this product.

I was left pretty disappointed, as I did not see the promised effect for this product.

Also, I am now skeptical on how a product like this that claims it has "no less than 67 minerals" as quoted from the packaging has no evidence in the form of a trace anaylsis to substiante its claims! Very strange if you ask me..

Got an sms today by someone from Arofanatics asking me what time I will reach C328 to look at the fishes.

Sent me into a fluster, as I thought that I had forgotten all about the proposed meeting...

Thank God it was a false alarm...

I guess I must have been too busy recently to be in the right frame of mind.. must spend more time watching my fishes to destress!

Probiotic food

This has to be advancement in the fish feed industry...

I really like feeding my fishes this food Hikari Saki range of sinking goldfish pellets:

Not sure if it is psychological, but I think my fishes ( even though I do not have any goldfishes) feed better and have better colouration when they are on this diet!

But there is no mention of the species of probiotic inside the food.

Betta rutilans

I actually had this wild betta in my tank for such a long period of time... it's pretty adapt at hiding in between the plants, behind rocks..

It's only recently that I discovered the identity of this wild beauty. Introducing you Betta rutilans:

It is apparently a mouth brooder... nice colouration.. love the colour of its eyes!

Rescued this bag of feeder bettas at an aquarium store earlier this week.

As I observed these fishes, which were so called condemned by others, I learnt new lessons in life and got a new direction to look towards too.

Sometimes in life, we just tend to overlook things.

Who said we cant learn things from the imperfect?

My planted tank was falling apart... due to negligence, so today, I decided to spruce it up...

Giving it a make over... so I turned the tank from this:

To something more interesting, with the addition of some slates and garden pebbles to achieve a more garden look:

Next are close ups of the tank mates... after the rearrangement... Hope that they are more happy in a new upgraded environment!
