My experience of using Seachem Prime as a water conditioner has certainly been good...
So I decided to buy a 2 litre bottle which costs me $58!

Pretty much looks like a regular bleach container, don't you think so?

Wow...

Wonder if this is due to the Great Singapore Sale!

Got this Oto fish food at just a dollar! Think will be great for the fishes in my planted tank!

Not exactly....

More like oyster shells for the filtration system in my parrot tank..

Added these to buffer the water to maintain the pH of the tank!

Bought this Azoo Condensed Fertilizer for my cryptos after reading that they have voracious appetite for nutrients!

Quite spoiled for choice when I was at the fish shop actually.. and it certainly took me some time before I could make a decision on which substrate fertilizer to choose!

This is how the fertilizer looks:

Quite curious, as I am a newbie to this.. will the 'ball' actually shrink over time??

API Stresszyme

Alright, must admit that I have been getting a little busy to update this blog...

with my increased work load, even maintaining my tank seems like a hassle to me, as I can hardly find a good time to do a water change!

Ever since the water in my tank started to turn cloudy, I have been thinking of what should I do since water changes did not improve the situation much.

A friend of mine introduced me API Stresszyme:

and boy.. did it work wonders!

The product apparently contains over 300 million live bacteria per teaspoonful. It claims to break down organic compounds that cause dangerous conditions such as ammonia and nitrite poisoning and low oxygen levels. Continuous use assures an active biological filter, cleaner aquarium, healthier fish and good water quality.

The only drawback I feel is the price tag.. a little expensive for continous usage... literal money down the drain!

Is it all hype?

Some time back, I bought a tub of Montmorillonite clay after reading how other forum users had noticed great changes in their fishes when they used this product.

I was left pretty disappointed, as I did not see the promised effect for this product.

Also, I am now skeptical on how a product like this that claims it has "no less than 67 minerals" as quoted from the packaging has no evidence in the form of a trace anaylsis to substiante its claims! Very strange if you ask me..

I bought a container of this Montmorillonite clay to try on my fishes...

Been reading alot on this on Arofanatics recently and I was told that Montmorillonite clays are among the highest and richest natural form of mineral elements on earth. Calcium montmorillonite, also known as the `living clay’ is edible, and consists of no less than 67 minerals. These minerals are essential to the functions of organs and reproduction of enzymes in the body. As such, the importance of calcium montmorillonite has become more prominent and it has been used as a health supplement, in cosmetics, spa treatments, agriculture etc.

I guess no harm trying... Looking forward to giving my fishes some spa treatment soon!
