Discovered these little crabs in a box of oysters while I was packing some today:

So cute...
Wonder if can keep them as pets in Singapore...

My colleagues were sorting out a shipment of crabs and they came across this specimen:

Look carefully at its right claw, you can see a smaller set of claws growing out from the larger one!

Well, I wanted to save this specimen and rear it at home, but it was already too weak to be saved. Died on the way home...

RIP!

Wow.. been a long time since I updated this blog!~

Over the weekend, introduced some apple snails into my tank, and was surprised by this whole bunch of eggs on the tank lid when I got home from work!

Cherry Shrimps

Got a bag of cherry shrimps today, decided that it would be good for them to clean up any left over foods as well as the melting cryptos if any, you can see the whole army of them soaking in the bag floating in the tank for temperature to stabilize prior to introduction in the tank!

Very nice, dainty shades of pink and for some, salmon pink, the actually 'fall in' to get into the their new tank.. so cute:

After getting into their tank, they quickly make their way to different places, hiding amongst the crypto wendtii, on the marimo moss balls etc..:

I thought that I lost a mountain shrimp today when I saw this:

Turns out that the little critter just moulted and thats the moult..

The shrimp looking happier admist the newly planted crypts!

Pretty amazing to see these gentle giants feed using their modified claws which open up in a fan like structure to filter passing foods!
